Lonely Like A Snowy Day

Gray skies hide the sun
and mask the loneliness of one

Giant snowflakes falling
covering the happiness of the heart

The hard, cold ground is impenetrable
blocking the softness of feelings shared

An icy chill in the air
freezes the warmth once given

Winter winds blow the snow away
like the smile that once graced the face

In a space of darkness and cold
lonely like a snowy day.
